٢And the moon when she followeth him,

Wal qamari izaa talaa haa

٣And the day when it revealeth him,

Wannahaari izaa jallaa haa

٤And the night when it enshroudeth him,

Wallaili izaa yaghshaa haa

٥And the heaven and Him Who built it,

Wassamaaa'i wa maa banaahaa

٦And the earth and Him Who spread it,

Wal ardi wa maa tahaahaa

٧And a soul and Him Who perfected it

Wa nafsinw wa maa sawwaahaa

٨And inspired it (with conscience of) what is wrong for it and (what is) right for it.

Fa-alhamahaa fujoorahaa wa taqwaahaa

٩He is indeed successful who causeth it to grow,

Qad aflaha man zakkaahaa

١٠And he is indeed a failure who stunteth it.

Wa qad khaaba man dassaahaa

١١(The tribe of) Thamud denied (the truth) in their rebellious pride,

Kazzabat Samoodu bi taghwaahaaa

١٢When the basest of them broke forth

Izim ba'asa ashqaahaa

١٣And the messenger of Allah said: It is the she-camel of Allah, so let her drink!

Faqaala lahum Rasoolul laahi naaqatal laahi wa suqiyaahaa

١٤But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings).

Fakazzaboohu fa'aqaroohaa fadamdama 'alaihim Rabbuhum bizambihim fasaw waahaa

١٥He dreadeth not the sequel (of events).

Wa laa yakhaafu'uqbaahaa
